Cambridge Maintenance Services is looking for a mechanically biased, multi-skilled engineer to join our team at Eldon Square, one of Newcastle’s busiest shopping centres. This is a static role, so you’ll work at the same site every day with no long drives between jobs. You’ll get to know the building and its plant inside out.
You’ll report to the Contracts Manager and work closely with the rest of the team to keep the centre’s mechanical, electrical and fabric plant running. Your work will be a mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
A company mobile phone, tablet and uniform to carry out your role will be provided.
Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance and reactive repairs across the centre’s mechanical, electrical and fabric plant, on time and to standard.
Servicing, repairing and replacing plant, fixtures and fittings, including pipework, valves, pumps, motors, bearings and HVAC equipment.
Handling general building maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs.
Keeping legal compliance records up to date on a tablet we provide.
Updating jobs and quotes on our CAFM system, which gives our client live visibility of the work.
Organising day-to-day housekeeping tasks on site.
Joining the callout rota once you’ve passed probation and working reasonable overtime when the client needs it.
A recognised mechanical qualification, such as City & Guilds or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with mechanical pipework, valves, motors, pumps, bearings and HVAC plant.
A solid background in general building services maintenance.
Confidence using a tablet or mobile system to record work and compliance.
A reliable, client-focused approach, because you’ll be the face of our service on site.
